Lifesaving Helicopter Stalled by Drone After Toddler Nearly Drowns in Orangefield | 12 News Now
A helicopter was called in transport the child to a nearby hospital after suffering cardiac arrest due to drowning according to Taylor.
However, matters were complicated when when the medical helicopter could not take off due to a drone being flown directly overhead. The pilot of that drone was identified, and his drone was promptly confiscated according to Orange County Sheriff Bobby Smith.
Once the drone was grounded the helicopter was then able to take off.

The Cavalier Invite is a meet hosted by the University of Virginia as their last meet before they go swim at the ACC Championships, it’s not uncommon to see swimmers take this last meet as a chance to swim an off event or two for fun.
In previous years Gretchen Walsh has contested the 200 free and the 200 IM during this meet, and now for the 2025 iteration she’s competed in the 100 breast.
