    Hungary has a new open-water swimming star on the rise! David Betlehem is having a European Championships to remember, bagging his first major individual title in the 5km race. This comes just one day after the Hungarian secured bronze in the 10km.

    It was a close battle for gold between Betlehem and Marc-Antoine Olivier with Marcello Guidi taking the third-place medal.

    Sky News host James Macpherson says common sense has “won the day” after the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled transgender US swimmer Lia Thomas was “not eligible to compete in Paris as a woman”.

    Mr. Macpherson said Thomas was in court “arguing for the right to race as a woman against women in Paris”.

    “The 25-year-old was a below average swimmer as a rale …. but then identified as a woman and started dominating female events,” he said.
