A non-functioning radio, a delayed 911 call and an emergency alarm that took several attempts to turn on were some of the challenges that staff faced after an unconscious 14-year-old boy was discovered at the bottom of a city pool last year, an internal review says.

Hawaii Island Police Investigating After 81-Year-Old Man Dies in Apparent Drowning | Hawaii News Now
On Hawaii Island, police are looking into a possible drowning of an 81-year-old man from Waimea.
Officials said he was found motionless in the waters at Hapuna Beach on Friday afternoon.
The man was later pronounced dead at Queen’s North Hawaii Community Hospital.
His exact cause of death is being looked into.

Owen Lloyd is now FINALLY an ACC Champion in the 1650, or depending on how you feel about it he has just defended his ACC title.
Last year at the 2024 ACC Championships Owen Lloyd of NC State touched the wall first in the 1650, clocking a new personal best of 14:37.04, ahead of NC State teammate Ross Dant who finished in 14:39.34
However shortly after his win it was announced that Lloyd had been DISQUALIFIED, giving the win to Dant.
