The Longest Time Breath Held Voluntarily Underwater | Guinness World Records
Holding your breath for even a few minutes is a tremendous challenge. But doing so while fully submerged takes it to an entirely new level. That’s exactly what Vitomir Maričić of Croatia achieved.
On 14 June 2025, in Opatija, Croatia, Vitomir set a remarkable new record for the longest time breath held voluntarily underwater (male) with a time of 29 minutes 3 seconds. A member of Adriatic Freediving, he undertook the attempt both as a personal challenge and to highlight the urgent importance of protecting our oceans.
The record-setting feat was verified under the supervision of official AIDA freediving judges, and Vitomir surpassed the previous benchmark by almost five minutes, pushing the boundaries of human endurance and focus.
