10% of Chinese swimming pools contain excessive urea
China’s Health Ministry announced over the weekend that 10 percent of public swimming pools in China exceed the safe limit for urea levels. The study was released after the Health Ministry inspected 5,639 swimming pools in 24 Chinese provinces, municipalities and regions from June through August 2011. Iceland defeats the Faroe Islands in 3rd annual dual meet
Badly pressed for time here, and quite tired from last night, I’ll just quote SwimmingWorld Magazine, who had the story already yesterday (LOL, giving myself a high-five here :-)
IN an exciting head-to-head matchup of Iceland and the Faroe Islands, the team from Iceland proved to have just a bit more in the tank than the hosts in an 99-81 victory. The meet took place in short course meter format, and Iceland’s dominance in the women’s events proved to be too much for Faroe Islands’ strength in the men’s events.

A bit about the 2011 FAR-ISL Dual Meet
This Saturday evening the 8th of October at 17:30 GMT, we the Faroese will be the host of the 3rd annual dual meet between Faroe Islands and Iceland, featuring some of the best swimmers from both countries. It is a 2 hour televised event, quite impressive if I may say so myself, with red carpets and big banners and everything.

CAS dismisses Olympic ban on doping offenders
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) cleared the way today for several dozen former doping offenders to compete at next year’s London 2012 Olympics, by ruling the ‘Osaka’ clause “invalid and unenforceable”, that bars from the Games anyone who has served a suspension of six months or more since the last Olympics.
