In the Danish TV show “Emils damer” (Emil’s Dames), lucky reporter Emil tries out what it is like to be the boyfriend of ten famous Danish women for 24 hours (yeah, you can do that, but the job is taken and the waiting list is full). In this video, he tries out dryland with Danish world champion Jeanette Ottesen, where after she tries to teach him the track start. It fails.

Australian swimmer dies after being hit by jet ski
A 51-year-old swimmer has died in hospital after he was hit by a jet ski at Port Melbourne on Friday afternoon. He’d gone to the beach with his daughter and went swimming, when he was hit by a jet ski with two men on board, unaware that they had even hit something until fishermen on the pier desperately waved them down. Fishermen that according to the Age had warned them earlier to leave the jet ski restricted zone. The unconscious swimmer was towed back to the shore by the two men after they had been alerted, rushed to hospital and put on life support with severe head trauma. Read for instance The Telegraph

Cars parked on thin ice go under
Doub, a spot near the shore of Lake Winnebago seemed like a good place to park a car for the “Battle of the Bago” fishing tournament, but after a few hours the ice broke and close to 30 cars went under, some ‘only’ several inches and others several feet. It will cost the vehicle owners between $500 and $2000 to have their cards pulled out, and one tow truck owner said all the cars he pulled out were totaled. Via nbc26.com

Thorpe wins the Zurich International 400 free in 3:59.48

In his return to longer distance competition, Ian Thorpe won the men’s 400 free in 3:59.48. That swim is well behind the top-ranked times in the world as Ryan Napoleon currently owns 20th this year with a 3:52.43. Thorpe also finished fourth earlier in the day with a 52.28 in the men’s 100 free.
