Gandy sets British record, 6 secure spot on GB’s Olympic team
Ellen Gandy set a British national record this evening with a time of 57.25 in the 100 butterfly, with Francesca Halsall also qualifying for the Olympics in 57.56. David Sliwinski and Craig Benson qualified in the 100 breaststroke with 1:00.09 and 1:00.47 respectively, and Rebecca Adlington and Joanne Jackson in the 400 freestyle with 4:02.35 and 4:06.47. Jennie Johansson sets Swedish record at the British Trials
Sweden’s Jennie Johansson set a Swedish record this morning at the British Olympic Trials, with a time of 1:07.10 in the 100 meter breaststroke prelims, 11/100 faster than Joline Höstman’s Swedish record of 1:07.21 from the Rome 2009 World Championships.
