Mie Ø. Nielsen 1:55.04 and new Danish record in the 200 freestyle
At the West-Danish Short Course Championships tonight, Aalborg prodigy Mie Østergaard Nielsen clocked 1:55.04 and a new Danish record in the women’s 200 meter freestyle, demolishing Lotte Friis’ record of 1:55.64 from the Danish Team Championships back in the supersuited days of 2009. Her third Danish record in a few weeks, see the result list here. The West- and East Danish Short Course Championships is a pair of regional championships that the Danes arrange a few weeks before the ‘real’ Danish Short Course Championships, to be arranged in Gladsaxe 14-17 November 2013.

In the pool the men’s 400 meter freestyle preliminary heat 4 of 5 with Kis Gergo (HUN) leading and Sebastien Rouault (FRA) in second. Kis Gergo ended up winning silver in the final, behind Germany’s Paul Biedermann.
