The Swim England Artistic Swimming Virtual National Senior and Masters Championships 2021 has seen swimmers across the country complete their routines within the comforts of their clubs and then submit videos of their routines for judges to score virtually.
Athletes have competed in the Technical Solo, Technical Duet, and Technical Team events.

Piranhas Attack Dozens of Swimmers and Rip Girl’s Toe Off at Argentina Bathing Spot | Newsweek
Dozens of people have been attacked by piranhas at a popular swimming spot in Santa Fe, Argentina.
Images of the attack were published by local news websites. One 13-year-old girl had her toe torn off. Another image showed a chunk of flesh missing from a woman’s finger. One of the victims had a large section of flesh from her foot taken, while a fourth had a hole in her big toe.
Reports suggest up to 30 people were injured.

FINA Announces Dates for FINA World Championships (25m) 2022 in Kazan (RUS)
FINA is delighted to announce that the FINA World Championships (25m) 2022 in Kazan (RUS) will be held from 17-22 December 2022 at the Aquatics Palace in Kazan, Russia.
Hosts of the 16th FINA World Championships 2015 and the recent FINA Swimming World Cup 2021, Kazan will welcome over 1,200 athletes from more than 180 countries around the world to compete over six action-packed days of competition.
“We are absolutely delighted to be returning to Kazan for the FINA World Championships (25m) 2022 in Kazan (RUS). This city loves aquatics sports. The facilities are world class and provide the ultimate environment for the athletes to perform at the very highest level,†said FINA President Captain Husain Al-Musallam.
In addition to the competitions held in Kazan, the city is well known to the swimming world as home of the FINA Development Centre. The Centre provides the opportunity for FINA National Federations to have access to high-performance training facilities, thus ensuring greater equality of opportunity for swimmers. The Centre is a project of Kazan’s Directorate for Sports and Social Projects, which links elite events with development programmes and tangible legacy benefits for the local community.
“As home to the state-of-the-art Kazan FINA Development Centre, Kazan is already doing so much for the development and education of future swimming stars. Hosting the FINA World Championships will be an opportunity to continue this journey and develop the next generation of aquatics athletes in the Republic of Tatarstan and beyond.â€

Olympic Gold Medalist Michael Phelps Comes to Boise for Aquatic Center Fundraiser | KTVB
On Tuesday night, Michael Phelps spoke with KTVB Sports Director Jay Tust at the Boise Centre to help raise money for construction on the Greater Boise Aquatic Center (GBAC).
GBAC will be a state-of-the-art swimming complex built in southeast Boise with year-round Olympic-style pools. Having an aquatic center of such size in the City of Trees will open up opportunities for championship-level swimming competitions, as well as promote swimming lessons and safety.
During the event, Phelps discussed how drowning is the second most common cause of death in children and how having more access to pools and swimming lessons can dramatically decrease the number of drownings.
Along with swimming safety, Phelps and Tust discussed the importance of mental health and how Phelps has struggled with his own mental health. Tust mentioned how in the past Phelps has even considered suicide.

Ian Thorpe Elevated to Legend Status in the Sport Australia Hall of Fame | Sunrise
Retired swimming superstar Ian Thorpe has been elevated to Legend status in the prestigious Sport Australia Hall of Fame.
During an interview about the incredible honour on Sunrise, which you can watch above, the five-time Olympic gold medalist joked that the news ‘definitely made my dayâ€.
“I was asked whether I was willing to accept the award and of course I said yes,†he told David Koch and Natalie Barr.
