    Via abc-7.com:

As of Thursday, there are no more water activities at the FGCU lake until further notice after this student drowned Wednesday night.

It was a tragic ending for Joel Johnson.

Infant swimming resource instructor Kathy Cole says this could have been avoided if Johnson knew the life saving techniques she teachers her students.

“Staying calm cool and collected is key. It does not matter if you are in 10,000 feet in the ocean or in a 10-foot deep pool,” she said.

Earlier this month, five-time Olympic swimming medalist Josh Davis was filmed at New Braunfels in a small role for the coming movie “Return of the Hiding Place”, which details the fight by a group of youths in Holland to save the lives of Jews during World War II. Davis, 38, plays a Dutch resistance agent passing over contraband to two young heroes of the film, a sequel to the 1975 movie based on the famous autobiographical novel by Corrie ten Boom.

“My little dream has always been to get asked to try out for the ‘Aquaman’ movie,” said Davis, laughing. “Too bad. I can hold my breath for a long time underwater for all those scenes.”

We’ll go on this boat, only a 2 hour ride, each way
