Nick D’Arcy files for bankruptcy
Ouch, Nick D’Arcy has reportedly now filed for bankruptcy, which means he’ll avoid having to pay the AUS $180.000 that he was ordered to pay Simon Cowley in damages for assaulting him. Cowley’s lawyer isn’t pleased:
‘It’s just a way of walking away from this whole mess and this debt and this judgment that he owes” … “I would have thought that he would have had the courage at least to try to speak to Simon and try and negotiate something with him, whatever it was.”

Dara Torres 25.24 and 2nd in the 50 free at the US Winter National Championships
44-year-old swimming legend Dara Torres posted her best result since the Beijing Olympics on Thursday, with a 25.24 and 2nd in the 50 freestyle at the ATT Winter National Championships in Atlanta, Georgia. Fellow American Jessica Hardy was first in 25.08. Torres is happy, “It’s nice to finish second. I haven’t been second in a while. If I do that at the trials, I’ll be fine.” Via AFP
