Via hollandswimming.nl, this much better quality video than in our original post. Doesn’t do him justice though, still whooped badly by the dolphins.

Sealander, the Amphibious Camping Trailer
This German-designed Sealander Amphibious Camping Trailer does double duty as both a place to rest and a lake-worthy water vessel. Ultra-light and waterproof, to be towed by almost any vehicle, and with a handy outboard motor for when on the water. The soundtrack could be a little less “The Last Samurai” me thinks, and a little more James Bond :-)

Kitajima: It will take a world record to win gold in London
Yeehaa, two-time Olympic breaststroke champion Kosuke Kitajima believes he will need to set a world record to win a gold medal at the London Olympics next year, because of the rise of his rivals. Very reasonable thinking, as Alexander Dale Oen was only 0.13 off the world record of 58.58 seconds in the 100 breaststroke. Read IBNLive

Comedian David Walliams is now on the final day of his epic swim along 140 miles of the Thames, that started last Monday. Brain-eating amoeba now linked to 4 deaths in USA this summer
As they say in this video below, amoebic brain infection are the medical equivalent of being struck by lightning, but still horrific. An extremely common amoeba living in just about every warm body of fresh water, that invades the central nervous system via the nose and kills you almost certainly within two weeks, even if diagnosed early. Chance of infection is only 1 in 10 million, nose clips can reduce risk, but best solution is still to avoid hot, stagnant freswater ponds and streams. Read ABC News and Wikipedia.

Or serious freediving skills, an underwater art exhibit has debuted on the former Air Force missile tracking ship “Gen. Hoyt S. Vandenberg” sunk in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary seven miles south of Key West to become an artificial reef. In other news, the art world is weird. Via Neatorama.

Superpippo gets beaten badly by dolphins
Dolphins King (19) and Leah (9) had to swim twice as many lengths as Magnini, but still managed to overtake him in the last few yards (meters). “I never had such tough opponents,” joked the two-time world champion. But he said he “fell a bit in love with dolphin Leah” and hoped to see her again. Read MercuryNews.com.

Freeing a humpback whale
This is nice, Michael Fishback and friends freeing a humpback whale on Valentine’s Day. I’m skipping ahead to the moment when they get the last piece of nylon net off of her, and she starts celebrating or scratching her itchy skin on the surface of the sea or whatever. Via neotorama.com.
