Last Friday, a total of 154 water-skiers from all over the world attempted to break the world record for the number of skiers pulled behind one boat, demanding a full nautical mile inside Australia’s Macquarie Harbour in Strahan. Nine of them fell, but the remaining 145 was more than enough to break the previous record of 114 set in the same place. Read for instance Today’s TVH

His name is Chopper and he lives in the Crocosaurus Cove in Darwin, Australia. They have this thing called the Cage of Death, which is a flimsy looking plexiglass enclosure inside the crocodile’s pool (or ‘territory’, as some would call it) that you (and/or the crocodile?) can dive into, to get a real close look at each other. Via Oddee, that mentions 7 other extreme tourist attractions.

The 3-laned 16.67 meter swimming pool at Toftir, Faroe Islands, ready for the annual youths-only swim meet. We of course cannot use these pools for officially registered times, but still have few juniors and seniors training here, because of distance to the 25 meter pools.

The neo-classical Øbro swimming hall in Copenhagen was the setting for this live CPH:DOX electronica session with visual accompaniment on November 12, 2011, featuring 19-year-old wunderkind Mike Sheridan and internationally renowned video artist Eva Koch. Hasn’t got much to do with swimming, but hey, it is a nice pool.

So, Pál Joensen is now on his first altitude camp ever, in Sierra Nevada in southern Spain, together with the Danish national team and a few other swimmers. But it was no easy trip from Copenhagen to the Sierras, as they had Pál’s coach Jón Bjarnason with them, who is notoriously unlucky when it comes to flights.
