145 water-skiers break world record in Tasmania
Last Friday, a total of 154 water-skiers from all over the world attempted to break the world record for the number of skiers pulled behind one boat, demanding a full nautical mile inside Australia’s Macquarie Harbour in Strahan. Wanna swim with a 5.5 meter long crocodile ?
His name is Chopper and he lives in the Crocosaurus Cove in Darwin, Australia. They have this thing called the Cage of Death, which is a flimsy looking plexiglass enclosure inside the crocodile’s pool (or ‘territory’, as some would call it) that you (and/or the crocodile?) can dive into, to get a real close look at each other. Russian yacht skipper gets 4½ years in jail for causing swimmer’s death
Russian yachtsman Sergey Marchenko has been jailed for four and a half years and ordered to pay one million rubles in compensation to a young woman’s family, whom he ran down with a yacht back in 2010, in an area of a Moscow lake reserved for swimmers. The woman became caught up in the propellers and died soon after. Read RT

The neo-classical Øbro swimming hall in Copenhagen was the setting for this live CPH:DOX electronica session with visual accompaniment on November 12, 2011, featuring 19-year-old wunderkind Mike Sheridan and internationally renowned video artist Eva Koch. Hasn’t got much to do with swimming, but hey, it is a nice pool.
