The Mare Nostrum series starts this weekend in Barcelona, June 2nd and 3rd 2012, followed by the Canet en Roussillon meet on Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th, and then Monaco next weekend the 9th and 10th.

Celebrating the Irish brewery’s 250th anniversay, Guinness had a submarine stationed in Stockholm’s harbor refitted with fancy lights and decor, and held a contest for to people to enjoy their stout at depths never before experienced. Guinness also celebrated by signing an incredible 9,000 year lease on its brewing property(!). Via DailyTech.

Returning from the Debrecen 2012 European Swimming Championships, coach Finn Zachariassen and swimmer Sindri Þór Jakobsson came to closed doors at their Bergen base, all municipality swimming pools closed because of strike. This is of course a major crisis, with Jakobsson vying for an Olympic spot at the Dutch Open in Amsterdam in two weeks. They make do with dryland for the time being, crossfit and bicycling, but have to find a wetter solution fast. Via BT.no
