Michael Phelps Receives AAFA Humanitarian Award
The two-time Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps was honored at the 34th Annual AAFA American Image Awards sponsored by the American Apparel and Footwear Association on May 7 in New York City. Michael Phelps was given the humanitarian award for establishing The Michael Phelps Foundation. Read NTD

Alexander Dale Oen Memorial Fund announced
In connection Alexander Dale Oens tragic death there has been established a Memorial Fund, originally a dream that Alex and his brother Robin had together, which is now being continued by Robin alone, but in the spirit of Alex. In the obituary in Bergens Tidende and Aftenposten today, “As welcomed as flowers, are a gift to Alexander Dale Oen Memorial Fund – Account Number 1204 04 74 763”. Alex is to be buried on Friday May 11th at 12:00 from BlomvÃ¥g church in Bergen.

A team photo before the “Skálafjarðarsvimjingin 2005”, a swim we arranged twice here in the local swim club. We’re situated at the mouth of Skálafjørðurin, the longest firth on the Faroe Islands, some 15 kilometers long and only 600 across here at the mouth, so it is only natural to dream of taking the short route. This one was rough, weather-wise, some swimmers made it in about 10 minutes, while others struggled for up to an hour against the head-on current.
