Really nice first-person view … these new action-cams FTW

Rough water abalone diving in Brookings, Oregon for some nice fat abs while on vacation last week. Got my limit of 1 per day over 3 days with all of them being over 9.5 inches and the heaviest weighing in at 7 pounds. 2 slots on my card left, so I’ll be back…

Brad Kremer used §300,000 worth of Phantom Flex high-speed camera gear to create this epic slow-motion footage of the neighborhood children’s water balloon party. Because that is what you do, if you have that kind of gear lying around. Via PetaPixel

As summer comes to an end and Autumn begins, kids go back to school and dream of warm days filled with laughter and joy. This short film is a reflection of that dream. Shot with a Phantom Flex it captures the magic of the moment. With frame rates of up to 2564 fps at 1080p we see every detail, every smile and every sparkle in the kids eyes. And that is where the magic lies. Within the hopes and dreams of our children.

El Monte Mayor Andre Quintero says he supports rehiring the “Gangnam Style” lifeguards fired for making a video spoofing the Korean pop song and plans to urge his colleagues to do the same. Read LA Times

“This is more than just about a video,” he said, noting the need for a “deeper look at the management” of El Monte’s aquatics center.

The mayor said he wondered “how can 14 people put together a video and no one from management knew what was going on?”

The HotTug is a wood-fired hot tub in which you can sail and a tugboat in which you can enjoy warm baths. A wide and stable boat for up to eight people. *And* the stove can be used to grill sausages on. Excellent!

It is a hot photo-op also, see HotTug on Facebook
