Swimming lessons at the Charlestown Boys & Girls Club, located in Boston, went on as normal Wednesday.

    Well, almost normal.

Among the throng of children getting their taste of swimming for the first time, there was Tacko Fall, Boston.com reported. The former UCF standout who now plays for the Boston Celtics proved it’s never too late to learn how to swim.

While Fall’s size — he stands 7-foot-7 — gives him a big advantage on the basketball court, it certainly was a hindrance in the popular water game, “Marco Polo,” when trying to avoid getting tagged.

The chances that one day you will encounter a shark are minuscule, small, shall we say, teeny tiny. And still, there are dozens of frightening myths surrounding these predators, even though most of them are misconceptions. For example, everybody knows that sharks have a very developed sense of smell that’s hundreds of times stronger than yours.

The newly-formed International Swimming League (ISL) kicks off its first-ever meet on October 5-6 in Indianapolis and SwimOutlet.com, the web’s most popular swim shop, has partnered with local California-based team, the Cali Condors. Together, the two organizations have created the Cali Condors Official Team Store featuring exclusive Condors merchandise, and are also working jointly to promote the team and its meets across various SwimOutlet.com media platforms throughout the three-month 2019 ISL season.

“We’re pleased to set up the new custom store for the Cali Condors through our industry-leading team store platform, while also bringing visibility and coverage of Cali Condor’s ISL meets throughout the 2019 season,” said Jaime Benes, VP of Team Sales at SwimOutlet.com. “The ISL team-based model is an exciting development for swimming and will increase enthusiasm, local support and coverage for our sport and its athletes. We’re looking forward to the new format.”

The Cali Condors General Manager is four-time Olympic gold medalist Jason Lezak, who signed Caeleb Dressel, Lilly King and Ariarne Titmus, among other stars, to the Cali Condors squad.

“As the biggest swim-specific retailer in the world, SwimOutlet.com’s support of the Cali Condors and the inaugural ISL season with various coverage and promotions on their blog, videos, webpage and social media will help us reach more fans,” said Lezak. “The ISL meets promise to be incredibly entertaining and will showcase our global roster of athletes, so getting the word out about this new chapter in the sport of swimming is a huge priority for our team and the league.”

SwimOutlet.com has committed to featuring the Cali Condors meets on its social media platforms throughout the season with Instagram takeovers in Indianapolis (IN), Naples (Italy), Washington, D.C. and Las Vegas (NV), while also highlighting the team’s online store and ticket sales through a mix of online and email marketing promotions. Starting in October, SwimOutlet.com fans will vote on the Cali Condors “Performance of the Month,” creating a specific video landing page to highlight race video and feature it prominently to customers.

Survivor has had its fair share of athletes and celebrities that have competed on the show, and this current season is no different. On the premiere of Survivor: Island of the Idols, castaway Elizabeth Beisel revealed that she was an Olympic swimmer.

Beisel’s stats are astounding—she started swimming at the age of five, and she competed at the 2007 World Championships at 14. Beisel represented the United States in swimming for twelve consecutive years, which is the longest streak of any female athlete to ever swim for the USA, and it’s the second longest streak behind Michael Phelps.
