During the COVID-19 pandemic our Swimming Club has been thinking of ways to stay connected. As well as a Strength & Conditioning programme delivered through Zoom to Norwich Swan squad swimmers we have also set up a weekly Vlog with various challenges as well as features such as coaches corner where the swimmers can see what their coaches have been doing during the week. Its been a lot of fun!

Coach Nikki has long been a fan of US Olympic medalist Cody Miller, himself a keen vlogger, so she contacted him to tell him about our vlogging attempts! Shock of her life when he not only replied but recorded a special message for our club and its swimmers! What a guy!

Earlier this month it was confirmed the Olympics would be held from July 23 to August 8 next year due to the coronavirus pandemic. But Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe this week announced much of the country will enter a state of emergency as it struggles to contain the outbreak.

“I don’t think anyone would be able to say if it is going to be possible to get it under control by next July or not,” Muto said. “We’re certainly are not in a position to give you a clear answer.

“I think rather than thinking about alternative plans … mankind should bring together all of its technology and wisdom to work hard, so they can develop treatments, medicines, and vaccines.”
