A woman who was attacked by a shark while she was taking part in an early morning group swim at Beachport in South Australia’s south-east has been rushed to hospital.

The woman, Pam Cook, was bitten on the leg near the Beachport Jetty, where emergency services were called about 7:45am.

She was helped out of the water by other swimmers who, along with nearby workers who rushed to help, urgently gave her first aid until paramedics arrived.
