Argentinian Paralympic swimmer Sebastian Galleguillo received an unusual gift from a local businessman, as the coronavirus lockdown affected the young athlete’s training.

Sebastian Oviedo installed a swimming pool in Galleguillo’s backyard, as footage filmed in Buenos Aires on Monday shows.

“To Sebastian Oviedo, who gave me the pool I would give him a million thank yous for this, which is an immense happiness and that I would have never imagined it,” said the swimmer.

Galleguillo, a member of Argentina’s national deaf swimming team, is aiming to qualify for the 2021 Deaflympics in Brazil.

“I train for an hour from Monday to Monday, which is what the training lasts, now my coach started to add more meters, so it is 2,800 metres per day, and so the idea is to keep adding metres until reaching the goal of returning to the same number of meters I used to swim, then we have to polish the performance,” said the athlete.

Repeat this in your head, then repeat it in the pool: kick, transition, down; kick, transition, up; kick, transition, down. The dolphin kick is used with more events in swimming than just with the butterfly stroke. If you can master the dolphin kick, it can help you swim stronger. Remember, one key tip: The biggest component of the dolphin kick is learning how to kick and move water in both directions (on your front and on your back). Give it a try and let us know how you succeed.

Two Long Island beaches have ordered swimmers out of the water on the hottest day of the year after a pair of shark sightings.

Red flags were put up at Lido West Beach and the adjacent Nickerson Beach in Hempstead Monday amid reports that a large bull shark was swimming in the waters off the coast.

The first sighting was reported around 10 a.m. at Lido West Beach. Lifeguard Logan Fitzgerald said he was paddling on a surfboard when he saw the maneater — thought to be between eight and 10 feet long — come out of the water.
