Meet Elena Krawzow, German swimming star and first Paralympic athlete on Playboy cover *EXPLICIT*
Paralympic swimming star Elena Krawzow achieved another victory but this time outside the pool, after getting on the cover of the German Playboy magazine’s October edition.
On Wednesday, the athlete was seen swimming at her training session in Berlin’s Sportforum Hohenschonhausen. She later skimmed through the famous magazine she did a cover for, going through her nude photos and interview.
“When I received a shooting offer, I didn’t think for long. I just wanted to use this chance to be the first Paralympic player on the Playboy cover and to motivate and encourage other women, to show that people with disabilities can do it too,” said Krawzow.
She added that she would have never expected herself to take part in a Playboy photo session. Nevertheless, she noted that she enjoyed the process and was happy with the result.
“I was very surprised that I received such positive and motivating feedback. My colleagues and friends were of course very proud and overjoyed,” the Berlin-based swimmer continued.
The athlete also talked about the challenge of doing a photo shoot when you are a visually-impaired person.
“I don’t see a camera, I don’t see a camera operator. That means that a photographer has to navigate me the whole time. When I had to look straight in the camera, he had to say ‘now a bit on the right, now a bit on the left,” she explained.
Krawzow is the London 2012 Paralympic silver medallist who set a new world record in the women’s 200m breaststroke.
She was seven when she was diagnosed with Stargardt disease, a genetic eye disorder, which caused progressive vision loss and left the girl with three percent vision.
At the moment, she is recovering from a shoulder injury and preparing for upcoming tournaments, including the postponed Tokyo Paralympics.
