    A Hawaiian monk seal attacked an unsuspecting swimmer at Kaimana Beach in Honolulu. The woman was attacked twice by the seal before getting rescued. Rocky, the seal, recently gave birth and was trying to protect her pups. Authorities put up a warning sign stating “Hawaiian monk seal mothers can be aggressive and bite,” but the swimmer swam too close to the pup. She was carried to safety and treated for her injuries.

Today members of the swimming community in NSW are part of an expansive network of 350 clubs and nearly 30,000 members, all working towards their own version of swimming success.

    Today we launch the Swimming NSW Strategic Plan that sets out this path for the next 10 years as we work towards Brisbane 2032. The journey starts here and now.
