A female University of Kentucky swimmer who competed against transgender athlete Lia Thomas’s participation in women’s swimming said Wednesday that many University of Pennsylvania team members expressed their gratitude for her advocacy for fairness in women’s sports.
“I actually had a ton of Lia Thomas’ teammates reach out to me personally, and thank me for what I’m doing because this is something they deal with every single day,” Riley Gaines said, alongside Senator Rand Paul, during an appearance on Fox and Friends. “But of course, they’re intimidated, they’re threatened, they’re emotionally blackmailed.”

At only three days old, Ethan Naisbitt was at risk of losing both legs and his right arm due to blood clots. His right leg and arm were saved, but not his left leg, which was amputated when he was three days old.
Ethan’s lungs were not fully developed, and he was on a ventilator for three months. He told three-time Paralympic champion Hannah Russell: “My parents were told most ventilated for longer than a month will not survive. But I went against all odds and survived.”
With a 10 percent chance of survival, continuous leg surgeries, and heart surgery in 2017, Ethan discovered swimming at seven years old and has not looked back since.
