    World Swimming has effectively banned transgender women from competing in women’s events.

    FINA has widely adopted a new “gender inclusion” policy that permits swimmers who transitioned before age 12 to compete in women’s events.

    TalkTV’s Renee Hoenderkamp is joined by former Olympic Swimmer Sharron Davies to discuss the future of swimming.

    Sharron: “It is about protecting young girls and boys across all sports.”

    The first swimming competition due to be held in the River Seine in Paris has been canceled because of pollution. The test event ahead of next year’s Olympics was called-off after a week of persistent heavy rain in the city caused sewers to overflow into the river.

    The Long Island swimmer who was pulled out of the Atlantic Ocean after treading water for hours was reunited with the two fishing pals who helped save him.

    Jim Hohorst, 63, and Michael Ross, 69, said on Wednesday they were out on their boat when they noticed a fishing pole with a shirt tied to it – and then discovered Dan Ho floating helplessly in the ocean.

    “If it hadn’t been for that flag you were waving, we never would have spotted you,” Hohorst told Ho at the Bay Shore Marina. “It saved your life.”

    Irish documentary The Deepest Breath has landed in the top ten Netflix shows for the second week running.

    An incredible 3.5 million streams were added this week following the opening week figure of 4.6 million making it one of the most successful documentaries on the streaming site.
