    A huge crowd saw over 1,000 take the plunge at the Lyme Lunge 2024. The annual New Year’s Day fancy dress charity dip in the sea organised by the Rotary Club of Lyme Regis was this year in aid of The Alzheimer’s Society and Asthma + Lung UK. Hardy souls braved the chilly waters, many in wonderful outfits.

    One of the fundamental skills in swimming effective freestyle is also one of the most overlooked. Being comfortable and relaxed in the water is the foundation of all swimming success, yet many swimmers never spend any time working to improve it.

    Your lungs should help you float and your arms and legs should propel. If your arms and legs are used in raising your body or establishing alignment, you need to work on using your lungs and body for that.
