As you see, we are not following the open water rules strictly, when it comes to gloves and caps and snorkels etc. But then again, with the water temperature seldom over 7ºC (44.6ºF), it will never really be a normal, rules-abiding open water swim.
The 3.5-ton underwater statue of Saint Francis of Paola has been found, that disappeared in December. A patrol boat spotted a small floating buoy some 200 metres from the place where the statue was originally located, members of the Paola Divers Unit were called, and found the statue tied to the buoy’s mooring line, possibly dragged there by the net of a fishing boat. The statue is in good condition, but an arm is broken. Via AGI.it.

That Croatian girl seems pretty happy with her job, leading Mads Glæsner, Paul Biedermann and Massimiliano Rosolino (in that order) past photographers and audience after the Rijeka 2008 European Short Course men’s 400 freestyle medal ceremony. And yes, I must stress that she did wear clothes :-P
