This seems to be the original ticketing machine of former outdoor swimming pool in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands, now on display in the current indoor pool opened in 1982. Tickets say from left to right: “Kvinnur” (Women), “Bað húgva” (Swim cap), “Gentur” (Girls), “Dreingir” (Boys), “Baðtoy” (Swim Clothes), “Áskoðarapláss” (Spectator seat). No room for men, apparently :-)

Scarlett Johansson Looks Like a BoyNice touch, millionaire adventurer Chris Welsh wants to name his Virgin Oceanic sub “Scarlett” after Scarlett Johansson, because that’s how sexy this vehicle is. Welsh plans to pilot the experimental, cutting-edge sub to the bottom of the Mariana Trench sometime this year, in what would be only the second descent to the deepest spot in the world’s oceans, since Don Walsh and Jacques Piccard went down there in the bathyscaphe Trieste back in 1960.

Not very swimming related, other than this ‘city of samba’ will be the host of the 2016 Olympics, and that there is an interesting rescue helicopter in it fishing someone out of the sea. But beautiful, via PetaPixel
