Debrecen 2012: Germany leading the medal race after day 1
After one day of racing at the Debrecen 2012 European Swimming Championships, Germany is leading the medal race, having won gold in the men’s 400 freestyle and women’s 4×100 freestyle. Host country Hungary is second with gold and silver in the women’s 400 IM and silver in the men’s 400 freestyle, and France third with a gold medal in the men’s 4×100 freestyle. Here Lavrans Solli in the men’s 100 backstroke semifinal, he set a Norwegian record in the prelims by improving his personal record from 56.08 to 54.83, and then was only 2 hundredths of a second from the final with a time of 54.90.
