    Star spotting Baltimore-style :-)

“I spotted Michael Phelps at Meadowbrook on Aug. 16, not at a hero’s welcome, but as he worked out and swam. Yes, he is still swimming.”

The body of freediver Rebecca Weiss, who went missing in California last weekend while on a dive, has been found. She was discovered floating in the water off the coast of the Palos Verdes Peninsula late Saturday, KNBC-TV reported. She apparently drowned, although the cause of death has not been officially determined. An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday, according to KTLA-TV. Read more here on NY Daily News

Though family members have cast suspicion about how she died, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department detectives have been careful not to suggest any foul play in connection to the case. Read L.A. Now

  • Diana Nyad and team hit by a squall, still soldiering on

    Off Nyad’s website:

Angie Sollinger with the Media Ops team reported that just after 8pm EDT “all hell broke loose here.” Out of nowhere, a squall “blew up very quick” and hit the flotilla with winds at one point reaching 14 knots, pushing Diana east. …

At this time, 1:00am EDT, we believe that the worst of the storm has moved past them and it is starting to settle down, though they are still experiencing moderate rainfall. Diana is in good spirits and is feeling strong. There have been no jellyfish sightings. The GPS tracker shows they have resumed their heading north towards Key West at a good pace.

Both Colin and Sasha grew up swimming, and as you can imagine, they fell in love at the pool. So, it’s only fitting that we tell their love story from underwater! Mix one part South African, one part Olympian, two parts wit, and a splash of water.
