It isn’t every day that an Olympic gold medalist is at Notre Dame. It is even more rare for an Olympic gold medalist to voluntarily journey to South Bend for a swimming clinic. Sixty-two year old swimmer Diana Nyad from California has been trying to swim 166 kilometers – or 103 miles – from Cuba to Florida, once in the 70-ies, twice in 2011 and again this year, still not giving up on the goal of swimming that distance. See Voice of America
