Tour Scotland video of The Loony Dook held on Tuesday, January 1st, 2013 in the Forth Estuary on visit to South Queensferry near Edinburgh. This New Year’s Day swim takes place on the first day of each new year, and today, once again, almost one thousand brave swimmers dressed up in costumes and fancy dress dipped into the freezing cold water of the Firth of Forth in front of the Forth Rail Bridge. Crew member from Queensferry Lifeboat Station, which is part of the RNLI, were also in the water helping to provide a safe environment for the dippers.
