At the West-Danish Short Course Championships tonight, Aalborg prodigy Mie Østergaard Nielsen clocked 1:55.04 and a new Danish record in the women’s 200 meter freestyle, demolishing Lotte Friis’ record of 1:55.64 from the Danish Team Championships back in the supersuited days of 2009. Her third Danish record in a few weeks, see the result list here. The West- and East Danish Short Course Championships is a pair of regional championships that the Danes arrange a few weeks before the ‘real’ Danish Short Course Championships, to be arranged in Gladsaxe 14-17 November 2013.

“One of the most common problems I see in freestyle is crossing entry which can cause overrotation of the body and will put stress on your joints as apposed to the proper muscles groups that produce power, control, and stability. Use this focal point in your swimming and see how you feel . You will be surprised at the amount of stress is taken off the shoulders!”
