Libby Trickett reveals she dealt with bouts of depression this year
Read Herald SunChampion swimmer Libby Trickett dealt with bouts of depression early this year before becoming a success on this year’s Dancing With The Stars.
The Olympic champion, who has now retired for a second time after requiring a wrist reconstruction, said she was more prepared to deal with depression this time around.
“I think I was much more prepared, and more aware of the triggers and things I had to be mindful of,” she said.

Australia’s mixed 4×50 medley relay 1:37.84 and a new World Record
At the FINA World Cup leg in Tokyo today, Australia’s mixed 4×50 meter medley relay broke their own world record yet again, clocking 1:37.84 where their record from Singapore was 1:38.02. Split times were Robert Hurley 23.46, Christian Sprenger Christian Sprenger (25.91), Alicia Coutts (25.19) and Cate Campbell (23.28). See the result list here.

Seoul 1988 silver medalist Benny Nielsen once swam a demo swim here, back when the starting blocks were in the shallow end. Must have been a cramped experience, swimming in that narrow middle lane.

I’m a Celebrity 2013: Olympic swimmer Rebecca Adlington ‘heading into the jungle’
Read MirrorRebecca Adlington has signed up for I’m a Celebrity 2013, according to a newspaper report.
Double Olympic gold winner Rebecca is rumoured to have signed a deal for £80,000 to head down under for the ITV reality show hit, The Sun claims.
The retired freestyle swimmer, 24, is tipped to join the likes of Westlife singer Kian Egan, Big Mo EastEnders actress Laila Morse and TV presenter Matthew Wright in Australia in the jungle for the show, which is due to begin a week on Sunday.
Rebecca, who revealed in August that she was considered for a spot on Strictly Come Dancing, had previously dismissed her chances of appearing on the series fronted by Ant and Dec.
She said last year: “I’m absolutely awful with creepy-crawlies and I couldn’t eat that stuff they do in the jungle.â€
