9-Year-Old Swimmer Makes A Splash With Her Book
She swims like fish. Maybe better than a fish. One thing’s for sure, 9-Year Old Lucy Alessi is wild about the water. She says “I just like swimming. I started it at four months I think.” Swimming, going to meets and competing has been a big part of Lucy’s life, so she decided to put her story down on paper. Her book is called BRB I Need To Go To Swim Practice-A Girls Guide To Competition, Confidence And Fun Through Swimming. Lucy’s Dad Derek says his daughter’s story is a really good one with some great lessons for little girls adding “also some smaller stories along the way giving girls confidence, ant-bullying techniques-also showing that swimming can be more than a life lesson-it can be a heck of a lot of fun.” Lucy’s book is available on Amazon and her website LucySwimWear.com.

‘Wolf pack’ sex attackers forced to leave Spanish swimming pool after being recognised
Members of the notorious “wolf pack†group convicted of sexually abusing a teenager have been forced to leave a swimming pool in Seville.
The group have been the subject of public vitriol in Spainsince five of its members were sentenced to nine years in prison in April for sexual abuse.
The men were cleared of rape and sentenced to the lesser charge after three judges found the victim was not intimidated and there was no violence against her. The decision became a national scandal and sparked widespread protests.

Mosul girls learn to swim a year after city’s liberation from IS group
It’s been just over a year since the Iraqi city of Mosul was liberated from the Islamic State group. Some 870,000 people have since returned to their hometown in a bid to rebuild their lives. Some are doing things that would have been unimaginable a year ago. One of them is Omar Ibrahim, a swimming instructor who is putting together a team of 12 young girls.
