One child stabbed to death at ‘festival’ at Newcastle Swimming Pool
Chaos reigns at the Newcastle Swimming Pool, where a summer ‘festival’ has been marred by underage drinking and the death of a minor.
Official sources have confirmed the death of a minor, as festivities at the Newcastle Swimming Pool spiral out of control.
During what is believed to be a ‘summer festival’ at the pool complex – which began earlier in the evening – an altercation broke out between underage revellers. A minor was stabbed to death in this melee. Another minor has been transported to hospital in a critical condition, although it is uncertain if the injury related to the stabbing incident.
SAPS spokesman, Captain Jabulani Ncube was contacted for his response, and said police teams would be dispatched to the scene. At the time of publication, a KZN Medico-legal mortuary vehicle had just managed to enter the swimming pool parking area, owing to the vast number of people openly drinking, dancing and smoking.
