An extremely rare vascular disease caused New Hampshire’s Morgan Stickney, a pre-med student and elite swimmer, to have both legs amputated. But she underwent an experimental amputation surgery that reconnects muscles and nerves, enabling them to more effectively control prosthetic limbs. WGBH’s Cristina Quinn reports.
