Florida’s Panama City Beach is known for its beautiful white sand and crystal-clear water but now it’s being called the deadliest beach in America. In a month, there were seven drowning deaths attributed to dangerous rip currents on Panama City Beach. Lifeguards say beachgoers are ignoring their warnings and going into the water even when they’re told not to. Retired fire captain Richard Alford drowned on the beach after bravely saving the lives of two swimmers who were caught in a rip current.
