Floodlit evening sessions at a historic sea pool in Cornwall have been bringing light to cold water swimmers throughout the dark of winter. The organized swims making use of floodlights at Bude Sea Pool have given those leaving work after sunset the chance of a safe dip in the icy seawater.

Open-water swimming has boomed in popularity in the last few years, with many people discovering the benefits of cold water during the pandemic. Opened in 1930, the tidal sea pool at Summerleaze Beach in Bude has offered a safe haven for swimmers for almost 100 years.
