Wild swimming is an activity that takes place in some natural waters, such as rivers and lakes.

It’s important for wild swimming enthusiasts to know that there are a number of factors that affect river water quality. Water companies can have an influence, along with other activities such as agricultural practices, septic tanks and road drainage, too.

Lady Vol swimming and diving senior Kaitlin Harty’s favorite quote comes from a friendly neighbor in a red sweater – Mister Rogers.

“Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone.”

“It basically sums up what I believe, the more that you talk about something and the more you get into depth about the things, the more you understand what’s happening,” Harty said.

Two Italian competitive swimmers died on Sunday when their ultralight aircraft crashed after take-off, the Italian swimming federation (FIN) confirmed.

Fabio Lombini, 22, and Gioele Rossetti, 23, were killed when their plane crashed and burst into flames shortly after take-off from the Crazy Fly flight school at Nettuno, 60km south of Rome.

“The Federation, distraught and stunned, expresses its deepest condolences to family, friends and clubs,” the FIN said in a statement, adding that Rossetti appeared to be piloting the plane.

Lombini was taking part in a three-day training camp at the Italian national swimming complex at nearby Ostia.

Swimming pools have become a suburban status symbol. Not only are they glamorized in movies and tv shows, but youtube channels such as Architectural Digest showcase envy inducing swimming pools in the backyards of celebrities signifying luxury, leisure and glamor. To the rest of us, they are a symbol of prosperity and an escape from the daily grid.

But behind all the glamor, pool construction is actually very disruptive, it’s a laborious undertaking, and is pretty expensive. So when shipping container pools come along promising an all in one solution, where a box holding a pool and all the pool equipment can be simply delivered to your site, connected to your water supply and set up in just one day, it seems like a very appealing alternative.
