  • 5 Cape Cod beaches closed to swimming following shark sightings

    Swimmers were ordered out of the water at five Cape Cod beaches on Wednesday morning after great white sharks were spotted close to shore.

    Ballston Beach and Longnook Beach in Truro, as well as Maguire Landing Beach and Lecount Hollow Beach in Wellfleet, will be closed to swimmers to at least 12 p.m., according to the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy’s Sharktivity app.

    Cahoon Hallow Beach in Wellfleet will be closed until 12:30 p.m. after a shark was spotted by an expedition boat.

    Beaches are only permitted to reopen if there are not any additional sightings.

    The former swimmer Harry Needs wants people to know that being bisexual isn’t “a gateway to becoming gay” or about “being greedy”.

    The 28-year-old was married to two-time Olympic champion Rebecca Adlington. They split in 2016, but remain friends and continue to co-parent their five-year-old daughter, Summer.

    Harry speaks about growing up knowing he was attracted to both sexes, his marriage to Becky, and having his first same-sex relationship.

The NBA veteran wrote a celebratory post honoring his mom, Jolinda Wade, who conquered her lifelong fear of swimming when she got in the pool for her first lesson this week. “For as long as I can remember my mother has said she’s gonna learn how to swim one day. Well today was that day. At 65 years old and after 51 years of not going into pool water. My mother conquered her fear of swimming today. Watching her overcome this fear was so damn Inspiring. I am a proud son,” he gushed.
