Hundreds of swimmers take a cold swim in the Vltava river in Prague’s historic centre on St Stephen’s Day. The 74th edition of the Alfred Nikodem Memorial took place under tight anti-virus measures.

World Record – Daiya Seto | 200m Butterfly | #FINAHangzhou2018
Two years ago, a crazy race entered in the history of the FINA World Swimming Championships (25m)! In the 200m Butterfly event at #FINAHangzhou2018, Chad Le Clos in Lane 1 was still the man to beat, while Daiya Seto and Zhuhao LI, Lane 4 and 5, had the best seed times. The pace was so high that in the first 100m, five swimmers were already swimming under World Record time, while in the final 50m Seto and Le Clos took the lead for a terrific final sprint that finally rewarded the Japanese with a World Record time of 1:48.24!

Coaches Corner: The Evolution of Dry-Land Training, Atiba Wade
Atiba Wade is former NCAA All-American at the University of Georgia and grew up swimming for the storied PDR swim team, led by legendary Coach Jim Ellis in Philadelphia, PA. Most notably, Atiba is a leader and innovator in dry-land training and functional fitness for swimmers. In addition to running programs for his many fitness clients, Atiba has played an instrumental role as a Fitter & Faster clinician over the past several years.
Atiba and Mike discuss the development of dry-land and how it has changed, as well as providing a special “sneak-peak†to the content the pair are working on for online courses! One of Atiba’s specialties is transforming dry-land exercises to match in-water training.
