With all official events canceled I decided to pursue the dream of doing the Robben Island crossing. This is an 8km ocean swim in the freezing waters of Cape Town, South Africa which is known for its sharks surrounding the Cape Town bay area.
This has never been done by a paraplegic and this will be a worlds’ first.
Come along for the journey and watch me prepare for the ultra-distance swim in the next 12 weeks and experience it all with me.

America’s brightest swimmers don’t go to W&M for the scholarships because there are none. And they certainly don’t go for the facilities — the pool is not worthy of the accomplishments that Tribe Swimming has achieved.
They attend W&M because the people that go to W&M are a special kind of people. One could say they are from the same Tribe…
Brett welcomes Rich Williams from the W&M Class of ’98 on the podcast to help spread the word to SAVE TRIBE SWIMMING!
