    After beating only one other swimmer, Ryan Lochte was the last one to climb out from the pool.

    He struggled to lift himself out of the water, undoubtedly feeling all of his 36 years after attempting to make one more Olympic team in the grueling 200-meter individual medley.

    In the end, he didn’t come close.

    Another swimmer with D.C.-area ties is Tokyo-bound!

    Andrew Wilson, who hails from Bethesda, Maryland, finished second in two competitions, earning him a spot on the U.S. Olympic team.

    “It’s still hard to really process,” Wilson said to 7News sports reporter Scott Abraham. “Every day it sets in a little bit more, even if it’s your dream, you don’t really expect it. I’m so so happy.”
