Head Above Water, an Amazon Original four-part docu-series that follows elite Australian swimmers Ian Thorpe AM, Bronte Campbell OAM, and Kyle Chalmers OAM, as well as former-junior-champion-turned-international-musician, Cody Simpson in the lead up to the games in July. Head Above Water will launch on June 4, 2021, on Amazon Prime Video in Australia, United States, United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, and select countries with its global release later in 2021.

“We’ve Tried to Offer as Many Lessons as We Can†| Pools Face Rush of Swim Lessons, Staffing Shortages
Pools are seeing an increased interest in swim lessons this summer after many children missed out due to pool closures last summer. The catch is that local pools are trying to make sure they have both the classes and staff to teach them.
Madison Gump from Kingsport Aquatics Center said it’s not just the safety aspect that has parents signing their kids up, it’s the chance to get them out of the house to get some exercise.
“I do believe from our group registration and also our private lessons here, we’ve seen that increase of participation,†Gump said. “Just where people have been cooped up last summer, they haven’t been able to get out of their house, they haven’t been able to do a whole lot.â€

Sky Pool: Swim in the Air if You Dare
So how many phobias can you squeeze into one swimming pool?
The newly opened Sky Pool in London will test several, including acrophobia (fear of heights), basophobia (fear of falling) and aquaphobia (fear of drowning).
The pool is 115 feet in the air and stretches across the 46-foot gap between the two luxury Embassy Gardens apartment blocks in London, with a rooftop found on both ends of it.
“Filled with 148,000 liters of water, the Sky Pool spans 15 meters, ten stories high, between two apartment buildings – a world first – to allow residents to swim between buildings,†described the Embassy Gardens.

Rochelle Man Dies During Swimming Race in Madison | Eyewitness News WTVO WQRF
An Illinois man died over the weekend after participating in a swim race in Lake Monona.
According to the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office, the 51-year-old had to be removed from the water, for an unspecified reason, during the Big Swell Swim race on Saturday. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died.
The medical examiner has identified the man as Michael J. Hahn of Rochelle, Illinois.
