    Siobhan Haughey has made history by securing Hong Kong’s first-ever Olympic medal in swimming. The 23-year-old won silver in the women’s 200m freestyle final on Day 5 of the Tokyo 2020 Games, beaten only by Australian superstar swimmer Ariarne Titmus. It comes just days after fencer Cheung Ka-long won the gold in the individual men’s foil. The two medals make Tokyo 2020 Hong Kong’s most successful games ever.     Siobhan Haughey scored an Olympic silver medal for Hong Kong in the 200-meter freestyle swim on July 28, 2021. She is the second Hong Kong athlete to win a medal at Tokyo 2020, joining fellow Hongkonger Edgar Cheung Ka-long who won gold in men’s fencing two days earlier. Haughey’s success also marked the first time a Hong Kong swimmer has reached an Olympic final.
