    You can find 17-year-old Braxton Wong in a swimming pool six days, two times a day, perfecting his stroke and trying to beat his personal records.

    “I first joined swimming because I thought I just needed exercise, but once I realized ‘wait, I can kind of go fast,’ my times were getting better and better,” said Wong.

    A Guinness World Record for the longest kiss underwater has been broken by a freediving couple who wanted to “inspire others to fall in love” with the ocean.

    The four minutes and six seconds smooch between 40-year-old Beth Neale, from South Africa, and her 33-year-old fiance Miles Cloutier, from Canada, was achieved in the Maldives on February 4.

    The previous record of three minutes 24 seconds, which was held by Michele Fucarino and Elisa Lazzaina, was broken after 13 years.

    Sofía Gómez Uribe is a Colombian world record holding freediver. She was in Dean’s blue hole in the Bahamas for Vertical blue, the most prestigious freediving competition of the year, where she came third overall. After the comp, we stayed an extra day to film this – the fourth installment in the ‘Sofía rocks’ series. Sofía hopes to return to VB this year, and crack the 100 meters. She also has a freediving school in Dominica called Deep Dominica.

    Moving on to Poland where a record crowd of almost 9-thousand people gathered for the 20th International Winter Swimming Rally.

    Taking place in the northwestern town of Mielno on Sunday, local time the event saw swimmers, from nations including Germany, Ireland, and Hungary plunge into the Baltic Sea with water temperatures of 2 degrees Celsius.

    The traditional cold swim is called “morsowanie” in Polish and swimmers are nicknamed “walruses”.

    The icy plunge is meant to improve health and boost immunity.

    Sunday’s event also included a parade through the local town fitness classes, and a jacuzzi and sauna zone.
