  • Ugh, the Indianapolis Speech Scene will be made into a movie

The USS Indianapolis was the last major American ship sunk by enemy forces during World War II, with the largest loss of life at sea in US history, as some 300 men went down with the ship and over the next four days another 500 or so died of starvation, exposure, suicide and shark attacks. We know it best from this scene out of “Jaws” below, but now it will be made into a movie, produced by Robert Downey Jr. himself. Via NBC Connecticut.

We arrived too late for it, but our guide told us that is was really nice. I think I’ll fast-forward past the introduction of dignitaries etc, and go straight for the show, “An Ode to Water”.

LOL, “I’m going to go for something for a girl”. Well nicely put, Sir, that must be covering at least 90% of the entire fashion industry :-D

Here is that bolero ‘hat’ for you. Yes, I had to look it up.

Each day an average of 10 unintentional drownings occur in the U.S., whereof 7 are adults. Despite their lack of swimming ability, many adults still venture out into lakes, oceans, rivers and swimming pools for recreational activities, and that’s why a new online swim community is launching today on www.swimmunity.com, to bring greater awareness to the need for adult swim lessons. Jellyfish are fascinating, yes, but apparently really difficult to keep in a traditional aquarium, because they get sucked into the filtration. So Alex Andon has designed the Desktop Jellyfish Tank, where a circular flow keeps the jellyfish centered in the middle, with colored LEDs to make it really beautiful. You can support the project here on Kickstarter. Via gizmag.com.

Covering 30,000 square meters, the ‘Dead Sea’ indoor water park in Sichuan province is said to be the largest in China. According to the Daily Mail, they let it accommodate up to ten thousand visitors at once. I think that is a bit unsafe, rubber rafts or not.

Behold the Bubble Babba Challenge, an annual event from St. Petersburg area where participant swim down the wild Vuoksa River while clinging to inflatable sex dolls. We’ve seen this before in Lithuania, where the participants though took better care covering up their partners (Warning, don’t go searching if you cannot handle the occasional full frontal sex doll nudity). Via failblog.org.

Looks a bit rough, especially when seen from the perspective of a struggling sex doll
