Swim goggles take the sting out of chopping onions

Gear for cutting AND frying of the onions? It is true, just read cambridgetimes.ca:
When she turned around to talk to me she burst out laughing. I faked ignorance as to the reason for her laughter and simply asked what was so funny?
Pat mentioned how I looked like a goof with the goggles on. I simply laughed back and let her know it was a smart idea, seeing as how my eyes were not burning.
Super recyclable advice for swimmers, only you might want to use a fairly new set of clear glasses when handling the knife, rather than the worn out I-see-no-sharks pair with sun protection that you’ve been using at the beach.

Phil Rogers has medals stolen, gets one back
Just before Christmas, Australia’s Phil Rogers had his Atlanta 1996 Olympics 100 breaststroke bronze medal stolen, two gold medals from the 1994 Commonweath Games, his Order of Australia medal and others, when thieves broke into his home in Adelaide while he was out with his wife and two daughters. They’d also taken a bit of cash, but that was nothing compared to loosing the medals. See AdelaideNow.
“It’s 20 years of a swimming career and you do end up with very little to show for it. I’ve still got state and national medals, but the big ones that don’t come along often are the Olympic and Commonwealth Games and it takes a long time to train for those events. “
Now fortunately, the police have recovered his most prized medal, the bronze from the Atlanta 1996 Olympics, found at a location in Adelaide’s western suburbs after the police receiving a tip-off. Enquires are continuing to locate the remaining seven other medals. Read AdelaideNow

John Caughlin and Mike Mitchell swimming the Maui Channel Swim 2011
OK, this is nice but also a bit spooky: A video from when John Caughlin and Mike Mitchell swam the Maui Channel in September 2011, up until (but thankfully not including) the accident when Caughlin got hit by a boat propeller. Follow Caughlin on his recovery blog “Life after 615“.
