  • 3-time European junior champion Mirela Olczak suspended for doping

    FINA has announced that 3-time European junior champion Mirela Olczak (POL) was tested positive to the substance Methylhexaneamine following a doping control test at the Grand Prix of Poland on November 12, 2011. The Disciplinary Panel of the Polish Swimming Federation has imposed a sanction of 6 months’ ineligibility on the athlete starting on November 12, 2011. Methylhexaneamine is commonly found in supplements as dimethylamylamine, which is not listed as a banned supplement, other swimmers to have drawn bans by this are Brazil’s Fabiola Molina and USA’s Sean Mahoney. While vacationing at a Vermont lake house, Matt is awakened by loud piercing screams and groans coming from his best friends Ben’s bedroom, rushes to it and finds him experiencing a very dangerous diabetic seizure. Now it is up to Matt to save his friend’s life – with no phone, no hospital within 30 miles and the closes inhabited house the one directly across the lake, Matt’s only option is to swim.

Each member of FLEX-o-Lite Productions has been affected in one way or another by diabetes, main goal to show audiences how important friendship is, while also showing how diabetes is a serious disease with serious complications.

    South Africa’s Ryk Neethling today dismissed claims by his ex-girlfriend, American Amanda Beard, that they abused drugs during the time they were together, a relationship that began in 1999 and lasted until they both won Olympic gold at the Athens 2004 Summer Games. Read The Star
